JR&CO

A while ago Mike mentioned something to be about this certain kind of treasure hunt called geocaching.  I liked the idea, but didn't think much of it.  Recently, it was brought to my attention again and the idea really caught on.  For those of you who are not familiar with the subject you should really check out geocaching.com.  A person takes a treasure of some sort (it can be anything really) and hides it in a weather proof container.  They then list the GPS coordinates on geocaching websites.  You  use the coordinates to find the cache and sign the log.  You can also take the treasure, but you have to leave something of your own.  In researching local caches, I found that there is a series of over 20 in our neighborhood alone.  Caches are listed all over the world, including the Space Station!  We have taken the time to find about 10 or so caches, but are ready to look for many more.  If you travel, it might be a great way to leave your mark on the world.  Our team is JR&CO.  Be sure to look for us online!

The above picture is a cache Mike found while I ran into a store for a minute.  It was behind the building next to a fence.  He had to have a good eye to find that one.

Here are two of my treasure hunters signing our first log.  It was literally across the street from our subdivision and had been for two years!

Our first trip out we took the bikes and loaded the kiddos in the trailer.  Max wanted to help out with the camera.  Great job Max!
