We're Back!!

We are back from our wonderful vacation at the canal house. We had fun fishing, building sand castles, and riding the boats. My sweet C and I took some fishing tips from my sister and became quite the fisherwomen. I mostly used colorful little “fake bait” because I am not one to stick my hands in a bucket of shrimp. C reeled in her first fish and I caught a crazy looking flying fish, but my mom’s camera went crazy so we don’t have all of the pictures. I am sure you are thinking yeah, yeah, all fishermen say that…

Anyhow, we are back from the relaxing, food filled week in Galveston. Next week C and I will start back to school. I guess the party is almost over!

We are having a great time here at the beach. Mike had to go back to work, so C and I are missing him today. My mom took this picture of my sweet C and her Daddy chasing birds on the little island out from the house. I paddled her out to meet him and they would walk along and chase the birds.

The LAST Harry Potter

We got to the canal house at about 10 last night. We unloaded the car and I allowed Mike a short nap before we left at 11:30 to go to Wal-Mart for the very last Harry Potter in the series. For those of you who are not aware I am a big fan of Harry Potter. I have read all of the books more than once and have all of the movies as well. We finally made it back to the house at about 1 in the morning and I quickly changed clothes and got started. It took me 12 hours, but I finished it! I am now done with the Harry Potter series of books. It was wonderful, I enjoyed every minute, and now it's gone. So as I sit watching the sun go down, a margarita toast to Harry Potter. May he live happily ever after...

Too Funny

My sweet C can just be too funny! Tonight we were completing our usual nighttime routine of brushing teeth and hair and so forth. We brush our teeth at the same time and then when I am done I go over and brush her teeth one last time. C likes to play little games like chomping down on the toothbrush and not opening her mouth just to be silly. Well, tonight while she was biting the toothbrush I kept saying “open sesame” over and over again. Then she opens her mouth so I can brush and says “open says you, open says you” and I couldn’t help but laugh!

The Circus is in Town!!

Saturday was C’s first trip to the circus and she had a blast. Her Aunt Frita and Grammy spoiled her rotten! She wore her clown nose almost the entire time and decided she would be Boobie Woobie the clown! We went early to see all of the back stage action and she was so tired after the first act that she fell asleep. If you ask my sweet C she will tell you about the elephants (The baby is so cuuuute!) the cats, and the horses. I have to say that is really is the greatest show on earth!

Cowgirl C

Yesterday was my sweet C’s first barrel race! I say that smiling because her great uncle had to lead her very slowly around the barrels. The horse, Susie kept trying to trot and he had to slow her down. Tee Hee! And to top it all off C won $1 in prize money! We went ahead and signed up for the series so we will ride at least three more times. In the end she will have her very own belt buckle! One the way home C mentioned how much fun she had and how much she loved riding horses so I know it is all worth it.

Today we have had a great adventure. My sweet C and I met one of my friends and her little girl at the Children’s Museum here in SL. It was only $5 to get in and C ran around and had a blast. We face painted, made a snowflake in a mirror, used heat to blow up a balloon, dressed up like a firefighter, made a tiara, and lots, lots, more. After that we went to Chick-fil-A and had a good time playing. C came home and went right down for a nap. I love days like today!! C and I enjoy a little time out and about.

Update on the Big A** Spider

I LOVE MY HUSBAND! This is when I am so glad to have a “handy man” around. My hero came home, got his blow torch and went after the spider. The good news is the female spider is dead. The bad news is I spotted a male higher up in the tree!! Does is ever end!!!!!

C had a really fun day at school today. During the summer they have activities such as fire trucks, field trips for ice cream, and bug shows. Today was Noah’s Arc, a build a bear type company! C picked out a really pretty bear and named him Rainbow. ( He has one on his foot and on the necklace he came with.) She is so excited that she came in and started introducing him to the animals in her play room.

This is the spider that is currently living outside in our tree and causing me much distress. (I know you can't tell by the picture but actually about 3" across!) I have called my dad in as reinforcements with heavy artillery and bug spray. If that doesn't work I am going to burn down everything in the front and back yard to get rid of the spiders.
I CAN'T HANDLE ALL OF THE SPIDERS!!!!!

I have been meaning to add this picture to my blog for a while but I kept forgetting. This is the “professional” portrait that was taken of C in costume at her dance recital. We just got in the mail recently and I couldn’t help but laugh! Just like her daddy!

Today is just another lazy Sunday. My very creative husband has built a race track in the kitchen and he and C have been racing their cars down it. Other than coloring the cat, and giving him a haircut, that’s all we have going on!

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone had a restful holiday. There hasn’t been much going on because of all the rain. We headed to LP and my sweet C even had a chance to get in the pool. We left around 9:00 and had a great view of all of the fireworks the entire trip around the beltway. Poor C doesn’t like them at all. She spent most of the ride with her hands covering her ears even though you couldn’t hear the fireworks. Luckily I had the Doodle Bops CD in the radio ready to go and that helped her fall asleep. This picture is from the Red, White, and Blue parade they had at day care. We are very lucky to have such a great place for C. She loves it and talks very highly of all of her teachers. Thank goodness since they are helping me raise my child!

What an exciting day. Today was another day that showed my little girl is growing up! C has always talked about riding horses. She has always “talked the talk” but today she “walked the walk” or rode a horse. Mike’s aunt and uncle are horse people. They have some really great horses including a small one they bought for their granddaughters to ride. The last time we went to see Susie they saddled her up and C wouldn’t go near her. Today she started riding with Aunt Randa on the big horse, and then rode with Mike by her side, and then by herself! We might even do a little barrel racing competition so C can earn her first belt buckle! Tee Hee!
