First swim of the Season

C has been wanting to swim since it started to become warmer.  Thanks to the fabulously heated 91 degree pool we all had a blast!

Our last Spring Break Adventure for 2011

Today we decided to have one more great big adventure so we headed out to the Kemah Boardwalk. (I have to say that place has really changed since I worked there a little over 10 years ago.)  We road  the train, (cousin D took a little convincing from her mama, but in the end road with us)  an airplane, and another carousel.  This one was two stories, which was fun for the kiddos, but hard for me to get a good picture from the angle I was shooting.  We also attempted the water shooting fountain, but it was a little too breezy and cold.  C did her best, but the little kiddos gave up early and headed over to the play ground.  We ended the day with a bike ride with Lala and some Berrypop yogurt.  Not to shabby if I say so myself.

The next few weeks of school with be the busiest for C and I.  She will be performing as a ladybug in the upcoming first grade play and I have to ready my third graders for an important state test and fourth grade.  I have a feeling this school year will be over before we know it!

Animals day two...the Zoo!

On Friday the kiddos and I braved the crowds to meet Grammy, Poppy, Aunt Quita, and cousin D at the zoo.  I don't think I have seen it this busy in ages.  I was prepared and decided to go a little early.  We feed the ducks and road the Hermann Park train while we waited for the rest of the family.  M and C didn't complain one bit.  ;)

Once inside we started with the carousel.  All three kiddos love a carousel ride and we met right there so why not?  Once we had that done we headed over to feed the giraffes.  Yup, you heard me right, we fed the giraffes.  It was pretty cool if I say so myself!  Our zoo had a 10 day old giraffe that was adorable and put on a good show.  M woke up the next morning talking about it, so I know it made an impression on him.  We went on after that to check out all of the other animals.  We had to make sure that we stopped to see "Zoboo the Lemur" from M's favorite show Zoboomafoo.  (It must be working because C was able to spout off all kinds of animal info at the wildlife park the day before!)  The kiddos and I were tuckered after that so we said our good-byes and headed home.  I have to admit that going in a large group with the family can be a lot of fun.  M learned to love riding on Poppy's shoulders and the kiddos always have someone to hold hands with or get attention from.  The cousins also LOVE the time they get to spend together as well.  We made plans to meet the next day and both C and M woke up asking about cousin D.

Bayou Wildlife Park

Today's adventure was to the Bayou Wildlife Park in Alvin.  They brag about having lots of animals from many different countries and they don't let you down! I made the mistake of misjudging my time, so I was stuck waiting in a fairly short line for well over an hour.  My parents and kiddos had gotten there earlier and made it in for some fun while they waited for me.  Once I did arrive, we hopped on the tram for a trip around park looking at and feeding the animals.  Once all was said and done, I don't think anyone was dissapointed.

Muttin Bustin Princess!

Today was our annual trip to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo with Marmo and Daddo.  We did the usual livestock show and longhorn picture...

but there was something special about this trip thanks to my sweet C... she attempted Muttin Bustin for the first time and second time! They strapped a helmet on my baby girl and put her on the back of a sheep.  She held on and was off!  The officials didn't think she got a fair ride the first time because the sheep made a hard right so she got to go for a second try.  I have to admit that my stomach was in knots and my hands were shaking.  I wanted so badly for her to do it and have fun. ( Most of all I didn't want her to get hurt) She has been waiting for this and some of us were a little sceptical our princess would attempt it...and she did...twice! She received a participation ribbon and we are all so proud of her!

M was along for the ride and acted like a champ since he didn't have a nap. He was down for the count by the time we were about a mile from the excitement.  He woke up long enough for jammies and juice and is now tucked snug in bed.
What a day.  I can't stop smiling when I look at these pictures.  So proud of my princess.  Now we wait for M's turn in a few years!
