Dance Review

OKAY... We are finally back on track after the great computer crash of 07. I lost EVERYTHING! But, we are very lucky because my brother in law helped get us back on track. C had her dance review last week. They decided to invite family to class instead of the big recital. It worked out great because we actually got to C participate! Her grandma's were both good sports and came to the class and had lunch with us on their lunch hour. We were all very proud of our sweet C and the fun she was having dancing.

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,
For Christmas I would like you to bring me some Halloween Candy, and real baby sister, a baby, Tigger and Pooh on a train, and a Jasmin Barbie since you forgot last year.

Love C

Disney World

We just made it back from Florida last night. It was a long drive, but worth every minute. C had the best time at Disney. She was such a good sport and really enjoyed the parades, rides, and meeting the characters. Click on the picture below to see more!

It's been just another lazy weekend. Mike just called from The Bee Movie. It was so bad that C wouldn't even watch it so they just walked out. Mike NEVER walks out on a movie so it must have been bad. We have spent most of the weekend outside enjoying the weather and the new camera. It has so many functions that I am trying to figure out before Disney. This pic is from the new camera. I actually cropped it on the camera, how cool is that?!?

Trick or Treat!

We hit all of the houses in the neighborhood, and now C is waiting for other kiddos to come so she can pass out candy. I love living on a cul-de-sac, it makes everything so easy! Now, how long until one of us gets a tummy ache from all of the candy.

Meet Jack

Please welcome the lastest member of our family, Jack! I bought the cutest stand at Target a few weeks ago, and last night we bought a white pumpkin. The two together make the cutest Jack-o-lantern. I guess Mike's shoes and C's shirt help with that also. We picked out his features together and Mike did the carving with our new electric knife. C has named him Jack. Now we are all set and ready to go Trick or Treating. C is standing by the door telling us how dark it is outside. I will post more picks later! Happy Halloween!

Zoo Boo

On Saturday we met Marmo and Daddo at the zoo for Zoo Boo. It was way too crowded, but we had a great time anyway. C had a great time wandering around as a pirate and looking at all of the animals. As usual her favorite part was the carousel. She rode it at least three times. Since she likes rides that much, I know she will have a blast at Disney, which is just a few short weeks away!

I Love This Weather!

You can't help but sit outside and enjoy the weather. Since the grass was mowed, we have been outside enjoying the yard. The dogs are wandering around and laying in the sun. C has her babies outside and is playing on all of her toys. Rascal the cat has even gotten in on the fun. What a way to spend the day!

Pumpkin Patch

I love this time of year. I have the best lessons planned for the next two weeks at school. It's just in time for my observation too! I also can't wait to carve a pumpkin with C. We bought the cutest pumpkin stand and both of us are dying to use it!

Disney World

We are taking C to Disney World over Thanksgiving! I can't wait to see the look on her face the entire time! She loves all of the characters, and riding rides so I am sure we will all have a blast. Her Grammy and Poppy finally talked her Daddy into going. Otherwise C would probably have to wait until she took her own kids!

The Texas Renaissance Festival

Today Mike and I took C to the Renaissance Festival. It was the weekend of fairies and they were everywhere. C had a great time and appeared to be brave enough to ride an elephant until it was time to actually get on. She did ride, but I could hear her calling for me the whole time. We had a great day together as a family and I couldn’t ask for more.

What a great day!

Today was a great day in our household. Mike finally finished a major project at work he was working on for quite a while. It has taken lots of hours and I am very proud of his hard work. I am also very proud of my sweet C. This morning before school she went to the bathroom, got undressed, picked out her clothes, put them on, found her shoes, put them on, and then brushed her teeth. All without my help! I am so happy for her, but also a little sad at how fast she is growing up.

On another note, while on the way to my hair appointment, I was caught in traffic next to the very intense arrest of two large males. And by intense I am talking four police officers with guns drawn shouting orders. And the entire time I am trying to decide whether or not to watch them shoot and how low to duck if they do!!

Not my Proudest Moment...

Pretty soon I might be ranking up there with Brittany Spears for the mother of the year. For those of you who have ever spent time with my sweet C, you know about her lamb. “Lamby” is her best friend he goes everywhere except day care with her. Well, last night in the hullabaloo of cleaning up after dinner, Mike coming home, and bath time, I ACCIDENTALLY threw Lamby away. We searched high and low for him, but he was no where to be found. It wasn’t until I sat down to do C’s hair a bedtime that I thought about it. Luckily the bag in the trash was a fresh with only a few paper towels. I don’t think C would ever forgive me if something happened to that lamb.

Funny, Funny!

C always makes me laugh! Here is how it went when I picked her up today.

Big Hug.
Me: How have you been?
C: C*&l&
Me (confused): How have you been?
C: My name is C*&l&!
Me: I know I gave you that name. How have you been?
C: My name is NOT Ben, it's C*&r*!

I HATE MOSQUITOS!!

Well, I have been sitting here wishing I had more to blog about. School has been so busy that we haven't had anything fun going on. Today I got my wish! Yesterday afternoon C got a couple of mosquito bites on her foot. My father-in-law tried the old bleach trick but it didn't work this time. By the time we got home from LP her foot was starting to swell. We gave her some Benadryl and sent her off to bed. This morning her whole leg was swollen and she had two bites that were full of puss and looked like ant bites. Yuck! We made her a doctor's appointment and sent her to day care because her 40lb. leg hasn't slowed her down any. By the time I picked her up at 3:15 it was swollen up to her knee. The doctor gave her a shot and she didn't even cry, my big girl! The shot should help, if not we have to try and force yucky medicine down her throat! I love Texas, but I hate the mosquitos!

Last week was a pretty rough week. My sweet C wasn't feeling well and that didn't make the first week of school any easier. After I picked her up from school on Wednesday, I knew she wasn't feeling well when she fell asleep in the car and slept through a quick shopping trip to HEB.

C's First Belt Buckle

We had another exciting night tonight! My sweet C had another barrel race. Her Daddy did a great job leading Susie around the barrels. C did a great job waving at every body! The best part was “winning” her very first belt buckle. All of my friends go for reading trophies with their kids. We go for belt buckles. 

My Sweet C is such a big girl…

Today was C’s very first dentist appointment. I was a little worried that she would sit there with her mouth clamped shut but she did a great job. The office is decorated with fancy bugs painted on the walls and very kid friendly. The hygienist was very patient with C and showed her all of the utensils. She even showed C how to squirt a plant and let her squirt water in her mouth. She was still apprehensive until the lady said she could have a princess toothbrush if she cleaned her teeth. From that point on C would follow directions and open her mouth. Granted her mouth wasn’t open wide, but it was enough.

My favorite part was when the dentist told me not to worry about the thumb sucking. I have heard from all of my friends that dentist don’t like that. Ours didn’t mind as long as she stops before her permanent teeth come in. Yeah! I bet he does orthodontics too and knows in the long run it’s better for him. Tee Hee!

Another big splash!

This weekend was a great weekend for C. She is getting used to the water and loves to be in the pool. Last weekend my parents actually fed her in the pool because she wouldn’t get out. Can you say spoiled! After my parents house, we went to Grammy and Poppy’s house to swim in their cool new pool. My sweet C showed off all of her tricks including floating, jumping off the side, and holding her breath to go under water!

What do you mean it doesn’t work!

This picture is from last weekend when we went to Wal- Mart. C spotted Pumba and wanted a ride. We used the old be good and you can ride when we’re done routine. Well she was good and when we were done, well, it didn’t work. I even went back out to the car for quarters. I think her face in this picture says it all.

For a Good Laugh! NEVER MIND!

My friend found this hilarious website! She sent me a video with the two of us and since Mike won't dance with me I made one for myself. They are both too funny! Check out the link to both of the links in the top right corner of this page.

Happy Birthday to Marmo!

Hello to everyone out there! We haven’t fallen off the face of the earth, just headed back to school. C and I started back to school full time last week and that left us busy, and with not a lot to blog about. We had a great day swimming and hanging out with the grandparents yesterday and I will get those pics on here soon. We just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Marmo today!

We're Back!!

We are back from our wonderful vacation at the canal house. We had fun fishing, building sand castles, and riding the boats. My sweet C and I took some fishing tips from my sister and became quite the fisherwomen. I mostly used colorful little “fake bait” because I am not one to stick my hands in a bucket of shrimp. C reeled in her first fish and I caught a crazy looking flying fish, but my mom’s camera went crazy so we don’t have all of the pictures. I am sure you are thinking yeah, yeah, all fishermen say that…

Anyhow, we are back from the relaxing, food filled week in Galveston. Next week C and I will start back to school. I guess the party is almost over!

We are having a great time here at the beach. Mike had to go back to work, so C and I are missing him today. My mom took this picture of my sweet C and her Daddy chasing birds on the little island out from the house. I paddled her out to meet him and they would walk along and chase the birds.

The LAST Harry Potter

We got to the canal house at about 10 last night. We unloaded the car and I allowed Mike a short nap before we left at 11:30 to go to Wal-Mart for the very last Harry Potter in the series. For those of you who are not aware I am a big fan of Harry Potter. I have read all of the books more than once and have all of the movies as well. We finally made it back to the house at about 1 in the morning and I quickly changed clothes and got started. It took me 12 hours, but I finished it! I am now done with the Harry Potter series of books. It was wonderful, I enjoyed every minute, and now it's gone. So as I sit watching the sun go down, a margarita toast to Harry Potter. May he live happily ever after...

Vacation Time

We will be heading out to the beach here shortly and I am not sure if I will be able to do the blog with pics but I will try. Wish us good luck with lots of SUN!!

Too Funny

My sweet C can just be too funny! Tonight we were completing our usual nighttime routine of brushing teeth and hair and so forth. We brush our teeth at the same time and then when I am done I go over and brush her teeth one last time. C likes to play little games like chomping down on the toothbrush and not opening her mouth just to be silly. Well, tonight while she was biting the toothbrush I kept saying “open sesame” over and over again. Then she opens her mouth so I can brush and says “open says you, open says you” and I couldn’t help but laugh!

The Circus is in Town!!

Saturday was C’s first trip to the circus and she had a blast. Her Aunt Frita and Grammy spoiled her rotten! She wore her clown nose almost the entire time and decided she would be Boobie Woobie the clown! We went early to see all of the back stage action and she was so tired after the first act that she fell asleep. If you ask my sweet C she will tell you about the elephants (The baby is so cuuuute!) the cats, and the horses. I have to say that is really is the greatest show on earth!

Cowgirl C

Yesterday was my sweet C’s first barrel race! I say that smiling because her great uncle had to lead her very slowly around the barrels. The horse, Susie kept trying to trot and he had to slow her down. Tee Hee! And to top it all off C won $1 in prize money! We went ahead and signed up for the series so we will ride at least three more times. In the end she will have her very own belt buckle! One the way home C mentioned how much fun she had and how much she loved riding horses so I know it is all worth it.

Today we have had a great adventure. My sweet C and I met one of my friends and her little girl at the Children’s Museum here in SL. It was only $5 to get in and C ran around and had a blast. We face painted, made a snowflake in a mirror, used heat to blow up a balloon, dressed up like a firefighter, made a tiara, and lots, lots, more. After that we went to Chick-fil-A and had a good time playing. C came home and went right down for a nap. I love days like today!! C and I enjoy a little time out and about.

Update on the Big A** Spider

I LOVE MY HUSBAND! This is when I am so glad to have a “handy man” around. My hero came home, got his blow torch and went after the spider. The good news is the female spider is dead. The bad news is I spotted a male higher up in the tree!! Does is ever end!!!!!

C had a really fun day at school today. During the summer they have activities such as fire trucks, field trips for ice cream, and bug shows. Today was Noah’s Arc, a build a bear type company! C picked out a really pretty bear and named him Rainbow. ( He has one on his foot and on the necklace he came with.) She is so excited that she came in and started introducing him to the animals in her play room.

This is the spider that is currently living outside in our tree and causing me much distress. (I know you can't tell by the picture but actually about 3" across!) I have called my dad in as reinforcements with heavy artillery and bug spray. If that doesn't work I am going to burn down everything in the front and back yard to get rid of the spiders.
I CAN'T HANDLE ALL OF THE SPIDERS!!!!!

Monday, July 9, 2007

I have been meaning to add this picture to my blog for a while but I kept forgetting. This is the “professional” portrait that was taken of C in costume at her dance recital. We just got in the mail recently and I couldn’t help but laugh! Just like her daddy!

Sunday, July 8, 2007

Today is just another lazy Sunday. My very creative husband has built a race track in the kitchen and he and C have been racing their cars down it. Other than coloring the cat, and giving him a haircut, that’s all we have going on!
